Elemental Manual Meridian Techniques
These classes are focused on affecting the Autonomic Nervous System and Vagal nerve complex, in order to achieve energetic and physical balance. The curriculum is taught relative to each element in the Asian Meridian System (Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal). Each element will be taught in the season preceding that element.
Techniques in these classes will blend a Toyohari style meridian therapy with visceral, neural, circulatory, myofascial, lymphatic, neuroendocrine, and emotional release techniques, to affect the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems through manipulation of the energy within the meridians.
Emphasis on palpatory integration and tactile sense will be highlighted in class. Each student will learn to trust their hands through practice and confirmation though demonstration. Class sizes will be kept small to nurture the most comprehensive learning possible in a short period of time. Clinical experience will be referenced in each class, so as to relay practical application of the techniques presented. Creativity and an open mind are essential prerequisites. These classes will be geared toward advanced practitioners of massage, manual therapy, physical therapy, and acupuncture, although any healthcare practitioner with an extensive working knowledge of anatomy may apply to take a class. The techniques and information presented in these classes are meant to enhance your current practice, and expand your awareness of the resilience of the human body. Information will also be given relative to application in current patient plans of care, and instruction as to documenting procedure for health plan reimbursement. Questions about clinical application are encouraged, and will be addressed on the last day of class.
Each class can be taken stand alone, but will build off of each other, as the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Students are encouraged to complete the whole sequence, and packages are available for prepayment at each level of completion.
Individual class prices are $450 per person. Class will be taught on Saturdays from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, with a seasonal vegetarian lunch provided from 12:30-1:45. You are welcome to bring your own food, or to leave for lunch as well, but community is encouraged.
Review, practicum, and Q&A will be on Sundays from 10:00 am - 3:30 pm. There will be a light vegetarian brunch provided from 10:00-10:45 that morning.
