Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy is the cornerstone of my holistic wellness practice.  I believe in helping the body heal through a blend of myofascial release techniques, Japanese style acupressure, and release of emotional holdings through physical movement of the body, for a complete, Mind:Body, client centered therapy practice. For more information regarding my skills and training, please visit the About section of this website.

I study the work of the European Osteopathy tradition in gently applying precise pressure to release restrictions and balance the body system. I work in musculoskeletal, visceral, vascular, nervous, and neuroendocrine systems, in order to facilitate whole body healing. More information is offered in the links below with regard to each specific technique I may use during a session.

I work with clients of all ages and dispositions. I can work with any medical condition to help support your healing process and often work as part of an integrative health team. I have specialized training in pediatric manual therapy, and am very comfortable with working with elderly clients.

I offer a sliding scale for clients that are going through my trauma release program, as well as those clients in need of financial assistance that would like to establish with me for a plan of care.  Please contact me by phone or email to discuss sliding fee scale options.

Please note that Massage and Manual therapies that are billed to insurance companies are done so in units of service, based on the modalities used at the time of treatment and the prescription requirements from your referring health care provider. If you intend to use insurance to pay for your treatment, please contact me prior to your treatment so that I may plan accordingly. Thank you and I look forward to working with you in the future!

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release includes manual movement of the web of fascia that connects everything in our body.  Through hands on therapy, mobilization, and stretching, I work with the muscles, bones, viscera, and connective tissues to achieve transformation, inside and out. I practice Advanced Manual Therapy techniques as taught by the Barral Institute.  I am currently practicing in Portland and Bend, OR, as well as Anchorage, AK.

Visceral, Vascular, and Neural Manipulation

I study under the body of work developed by Jean Pierre Barral, DO PT (the Barral Institute).  My practice involves gently mobilizing the organs of the body, as well as connective tissues.  This work affects the fascial system, circulatory and nervous systems, neuroendocrine system, joint mobilization and full body integration to help you heal from a variety of illness and physical disfunction.  I currently practice in Portland and Bend, OR, as well as Anchorage, AK.

Structural Integration

Structural Integration is a therapeutic method that involves the combination of several modalities. Treatments include myofascial release, traction, trigger point therapy, and deep tissue sculpting techniques that work together to realign structural imbalances. I practice in a way that is gentle, working with your body, not against it, to realign the whole body by releasing chains of restriction along the fascial train system. These techniques go far beyond the traditional philosophy of the fascial system, as practiced by Rolfing therapists.  I include work in the viscera that can be incredibly effective in realigning your body; this style of treatment is often more gentle and profound than Rolfing sessions, and can create change in a fraction of the time. I currently practice in Portland and Bend, OR, as well as Anchorage, AK.

Japanese Meridian Therapy/ Toyo Hari

Japanese Meridian Therapy is a way for your body to achieve a greater flow within the meridian system through non insertion acupuncture and bio current acupressure work.  This treatment is very gentle and works to harmonize and balance your internal and external energy meridians.

Pediatric Manual Therapy

I have specialized training in Pediatric manual therapy techniques and am able to offer gentle therapy for babies and children of all ages. I have worked with trauma release in infants that were in the NICU as well as toddlers with mobility and digestive issues. I am comfortable working with any condition, and always meet a child where he or she is at with their healing process and abilities on the day they come to see me. Some sessions are more productive than others. I always enjoy treating the parents as well, and sometimes this is essential to helping the child in their healing process. I recommend 45 minute sessions for first appointments with children (please book 60 min, you will only be charged for 45 min). Follow up sessions are usually 30 minutes long.  You know your child better than anyone, so please try to schedule a time that fits well into their daily routine for the first session. We can discuss what is appropriate for daily schedule timing for the follow up sessions, depending on treatment goals.
