Prenatal or Pregnancy Massage
Massage is a very beneficial way to nurture the births of Mothers and their babies. Throughout the stages of pregnancy and prenatal development a woman's body goes through physical and hormonal changes that can benefit from the therapeutic and relaxing touch of an experienced massage therapist. I hold a certificate in Prenatal, Postnatal, and Labor and Delivery Massage through the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT) in Boulder, Colorado.
My prenatal certification from BCMT relies heavily on the therapeutic methods pioneered by Carol Osborn, and documented in her book, Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy: A Comprehensive Practitioner's Guide to Pregnancy, Labor, and Postpartum. These methods focus on relaxation and loving touch, as well as deeply therapeutic treatments that relieve some of the significant discomfort that can be felt during the stages of development into motherhood.
Being a Certified Pre-Natal, Post Natal, and Labor and Delivery massage therapist is important to me, as I am committed to providing the most therapeutic and beneficial treatments for my patients. Bodywork during pregnancy can provide necessary relaxation, and alleviate discomfort caused by gestational changes and the stress of labor.

Couples Comfort Coaching for Labor!
I offer a private class on comfort strategy and pain relieving techniques that will aid in making the labor of birthing your baby as comfortable as possible. In this class I will coach you and your partner on the use of several devices for pain relief and distraction, including the Rebozo, birthing ball, hot/cold treatments, aromatherapy, acupressure points, sensory stimulus and sensory quieting. I will also give you some information about using a TENS unit during labor as a natural, drug-free, form of pain relief/ distraction. The TENS unit is used widely in the UK and is an excellent way to control your comfort levels during labor.
This class session is 1.5-2 hours long, and is booked by appointment, according to availability. I recommend contacting me 4-6 weeks before your due date to set up the class date for you and your parter. If your health insurance covers massage and/ or manual therapy, you may be able to receive a substantial reimbursement for a part of the class.
